About Guillermo Gambini

Caracas, Venezuela. 1966.

Visual artist & Conceptual Storyteller.

Lawyer. Former federal judge (Venezuela).

From a Cuban father and an Italian mother, the mixed culture has led him to be aware of the wonder of traveling and studying around the world.

Graduated as a lawyer in 1989, he began his career as a public defender until he became a federal judge for 15 years. With master's studies in Caracas, Madrid, Buenos Aires and Barcelona, ​​he shares his time between reading, writing and plastic art developments.

Being the written word one of his passions, he published his first four poetry books in Buenos Aires between 2014 and 2017. At the same time he dedicates his free time to creating pieces of art that allow him to express his conception of life and society.

Political confrontation with Venezuelan government forces him to flee the country, taking refuge in Florida. Where, among other jobs, he produce and host the radio show "Barras y Estrellas" (Stars and Stripes), in which he shares curiosities on current legal topics, in addition to episodes of US history with humorous twists that lead the audience to have fun while learning.

He is Professor of Art History, and of United States History, as well as being a guest speaker at the Center for the Study of Democracy at Kenyon College, where he has lectured on different aspects of political sciences.

As a plastic artist, he expresses his concerns through installations, intervening pieces of common use to present to the public with countless ways of interpreting his work.

As resident artist at Art Serve Fl, he has developed his particular style presenting installations such as "Freedom of the Press" in which he shows us the dangers of contravening dictatorships. 

Recently, he presented his interpretation of "American Flag", on immigration, and "Walking together", on integration.

He is also able to use humor as an element of communication through pieces like "When the Super Heroes are Latinos, and" Grounded beef "(both under construction).

Gambini constantly seeks ways to make us think.
